  • I'm

    in need of prayer.

    James 5:13-14
13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the congregation; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of Yeshua:

    Romans 12:15
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.

    Galatians 6:2
Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Yeshua.

I'm trying ... and yes it hurts

    Avinu malkeinu khaneinu va'aneynu sh'ayn banu ma'asim.
    Ase imanu tzedakah va'khesed v'hoshe'eynu.

    (Our Father, our King,
Be gracious unto us and answer us
    For we are unworthy.
Deal with us in charity and loving-kindness
    And save us. )

  • Bait & Switch

here's the link to the video http://www.yahoo.com/s/914178

basically if you pay with plastic at the pump watch the price per gallon, it may be 8 cents more to cover the cost of the fee visa/mastercard charge the merchant.

my question is what about debit cards?  it's not a real credit card, the money comes out of a checking account.

plus they do want you to come in and pay cash for your fuel because fuel stations really make their money off the sale of merchandise inside, not at the pump ... that was so rude of the lady interviewing the poor clerk, after all it's not his store .... quit beating him up.

  • Our Independence Weekend

7/3 - we saw 3 more houses.  one has potential and kids DS's age next door to play with but DH and I will have to either play the "honey mover your car" game or one has to park on the street.  so like I said potential.

    7/4 - DS and I made a craft and read a book

    DSCF0093.JPG

then DS went swimming with my MIL and after that spent some time with a friend and that evening we welcomed Shabbat and  watched a movie.  No it wasn't the Bee Movie but I just wanted to say I really think that movie is funny.  And then we just watched the neighborhood fireworks

7/6 -  up early to go to a local garden since we had tickets to get in with.

here's a garden my dad liked

    here's the water garden

    DSCF0096.JPG

which someone pointed out is perfect for some uncool guests

    DSCF0105.JPG

And after reading Burgess' Bird Book for Year 1 we have really been noticing the fowl.

and there was this set of steps that led down to the water

Now we get to DS's fave

    DSCF0112.JPG

    DSCF0107.JPG

After the garden we stopped at a Cafe

    DSCF0115.JPG

That late afternoon til about 11:30pm we were with our HavDalah friends for oneg and Torah study.

7/6 - up early again so we could go to a local amusement park and those who know me and where I am probably know which one I'm talking about...but shhh just between us - k?!!  DS has been there before but was only able to ride kiddie rides and this year was tall enough for big rides.   So we rode a non-upside down roller coaster and DS lost it .... back to kiddie land we went.  I did take him on another gentle adult ride and he lost it again so he did get several turns on some of his fave kiddie rides ... at least he had fun.  We stayed there about 5 hours and the rest of our party had ridden water rides and felt icky, hot and tired so we left...although DS could have stayed all day in kiddie land.  I didn't take my camera because I didn't know if we might ride a water ride, although I think my mom has photos from DS's first time there 2 years ago since back then she stayed in kiddie land while I rode every thrill ride with my 11 year old cousin.  and I do mean every ride, even ones I don't typically ride just so he didn't have to ride alone.  I had wondered if DS would either love adult rides and be done with kiddie land or if he'd be frightened and never want to ride adult rides....so I just played up the kid rides and how cool they were and how they were practice runs for the big rides.

After we got home we went swimming at my dad's apartment pool.  DS dives/flips into the deep end now and swims to the other side.  No swim lessons required, just exposure to a pool since he was 22 months old.

After we got home from that DS complained he was bored but my friend called and needed some cheering up so while I was talking to her DS fell asleep for the night.

7/7 - back to work and started Year 1.5 using Beyond by HOD and I reserve the right to edit as I read aloud ...

in fact I did today, the people in the story were having ham and eggs for breakfast .. I just said meat and kept on reading.   At some point I will explain that people who claim(ed) to be "strong in the Lord" failed to incorporate even the simplest of guidelines in the Bible.  Many times due to having been taught that the OT has been done away with ....  it's a shame that some would lead others astray.

Also over the weekend there was some green propaganda show on tv about what would happen to earth if people disappeared ... it shows nuclear power plants exploding when electricity stops working and that made me wonder why that wasn't a scenario in Last Light ...  also I get so sick of hearing about our carbon output because hello back when we decided on a fuel of choice for automobiles some one was pleased to be getting all that moolah but now we have to feel bad for driving?  oh and you green hollywood types um if I go totally green I wouldn't use electricity and therefore won't be watching your movies ... uh did you think about that?

who else sees the setup we've all been made to take part of?  with the green stuff and the price of everything ... fish in a bowl or gerbils in a cage ... who's the control group?  experiments with real people .... arg

go here and look for the comment titled Hey Registered Voter of PA

here's what it says I just gave the above for a reference

Not sure why your blaming Republicans after all it was Al Gore (the earth warrior),

who said in his book Earth in the Balance that he hoped for $5 a gallon gas so that people would stop buying it. Well it appears that democrats are now getting their wish.

Additionaly the high fuel prices have caused several large airline and auto industry coportations to either go bankrupt and close shop or down size with massive layoffs, this should also make democrats happy as according to them all big business is bad. So with businesses laying people off and getting smaller democats should be rejoicing in their victories against the big businesses.

    Another goodie

ok some of you people are really stupid. you obviously don't know anything about history or the way the economy works. do you realize that the economy is actually better under bush even though gas in and of itself is higher. Do you moron's not realize the way that goverment works? the way the economy is today is the result of Bill Clinton. The only direct result we have seen from Bush is this years tax incentive checks. The economy during Clinton was the result of George Bush Sr. Grow up and look at history.

  • More House Hunt

ok so far on here the votes are 2 for each house.

I asked DS which one he liked and he picked a totally different one LOL boys!

last night at Shabbat service the granddaughter of the instructor came up to me all excited and said "you're moving in next door!  I can play with Noah!"  and I had to let her know we weren't sure yet.

the house with the sunroom and raspberries is just outside the burb we live in now and I called the pd for that area and he said since jan there has been 3 burglaries, 1 disturbance, 2 auto thefts, and 1 harrassment on that block.  They don't patrol there because they are busy else where.

And another lady last night said she too lives just outside our burb into a different city's pd area and her words were "good luck" getting a cop when ya need one.

but like I said the house close to people we know has duck tape and tin foil on pipes and wires in the basement, so not even sure what that's about and if it's safe or will it pass FHA requirements etc.

ok off to paint - yes it's Shabbat but I'm helping people out ...  my Rabbi would do the same ((my Rabbi is your Rabbi if'n u b a Believer!))

  • The Great House Hunt

ok it's come down to 2 houses.

we like them both, each have their pluses and minuses -- doesn't everything?

the first house DH liked turns out to be 2 doors down from my Intro to Jewish Roots instructor and so that has really made me take a second/third look at the house.  The instructor and his wife introduced me to their neighbor and they all said it's a quiet area, except right after the high school lets out at 2:30 lots of teens driving but as soon as they clear out, alls quiet again.  My instructor has both the US and Israel flags on a flagpole out front and he says the only cop on the burb/town force that is Jewish stopped and asked why they fly the flag and since then their street gets patrolled often.  The people who bought it in 2006 got it as a hud house but it's not being sold currently as a hud house. it's listing for 89,900 and their record shows they paid 88,507 for it in march of 2006.  unfortunately I can't show any pics of the basement, as there are none, but that is the area that really needs work and the chimney has a crack in it ... so several things we aren't sure if they will pass inspection.

but here's some photos of the upstairs inside:

    hardyliv

    hardydin

    hardykitchen

    hardymst

the house is currently empty so these must be older photos.

    House #2:

is just outside our smaller burb/town and into the limits of the big metro city ... which stinks because I've never seen police cars with that city name in this area, just the burb/town patrols which means they can't help us even if they see we need help, they can just call our police and hope they get their before we're robbed blind or dead, whichever comes first, ya know.  The people selling it lived there 34 years, in fact the photo of the kitchen below was originally remodeled in 1995 according to the disclosure ((which the first house has no disclosures))  the second house has an unfinished basement as well and in 1990 and 2007 has had some wall-bracing / water lock systems done because the walls were caving in, as are many homes in this area .... in the 50's a lot of houses were built and just about every one has needed water/cable lock or mud jacking or do it yourself wall bracing since then do to pressure on the poored concrete walls from the ground outside and heavy rains.  The water locking done in 2007 does have a lifetime transferable warranty.  The house is listed for 82,000 because many people are scared off by the work that has been done in the basement. Oh and this house has raspberries growing in the back-yard and since it's summer and the photos below are fall photos you can't see all the pretty flowers, but they are in full bloom right now.  Hoping there are hardwood floors under that bright blue carpet ... DH says down the road we can take it out.

    glenliv

    glenkit

    glenback

    glensun

that sunroom has heat/air vents so can be used all year round -- I really like that.

but again ... we'd be in a new city only by 2 houses in which means whole different property tax rates and not sure about the police/fire response times because not even sure where the closest that city's departments are ... etc

this is such a huge decision and DH wants me to make one ASAP because he's tired of us having our realtor drive all over with gas prices as they are.   but this isn't like making a $150 purchase ... this could be a 20+ year purchase, ya know .... pressure, pressure.

  • What's that about 3's?

ugh ... everytime I've checked my bank balance this week it's been off, $35 here, $45 there and now a recent $15 ...nothing shows up though as showing where these amounts have suddenly been spent but wouldn't ya know the bank has decided to give me not just one but two overdraft charges ... I've called them twice now on these mysterious amounts that keep me from balancing but again there's no trace as to where they went but that's not their problem, it's mine and I get to pay for the overusage.

OK I want a credit union - any recommendations?

6/30 will be the day ...I'm done with banks

    they bite

something about the pre-auths and when it finally comes thru it's still a pre-auth also and then some other things come through, and if they could just wait until the end of the day before pressing the let's charge the innocent folk a charge button, then it would all clear the right way and the double, from the pre-auth would fall off ... but no, they are trigger, uh er button happy and like I said I got slapped with 2 button presses today .... arg ... as if I have that kind of money seeing as how there's also no trace to the $90 that's disappeared in the last week ... ugh...can I say it again?

    UGH

  • More Than Even I wanted to know

What Your Fridge Says About You
You like to be surrounded by things you love. You aren't exactly greedy, but you can be materialistic at times.

You tend to be a fairly thrifty person. You splurge occasionally, but you're mostly a saver.

You don't tend to be a very adventurous person, but you do surprise everyone now and then. You have a bit of a wild side.

You try to be responsible, but you don't always succeed. Your heart is in the right place though.

You are likely to be married - and very busy.
What the House Test Says About You
You consider yourself important, but no more important than anyone else. You love attention, but you don't feel like you deserve more of it than anyone else.

You can't stand community oriented people and annoying "buy local" campaigns. You prefer to live the best life possible, and that doesn't really involve many other people.

You are a rather formal, conservative person. You enjoy being social, and you prefer social situations that are pretty conventional.

You take good care of your physical appearance. You dress well, stay in shape, and do your best to look great.

You are moved by the most simple of things. You can find pleasure from a small, perfect moment.
You Should Live in the Country
You are laid back, calm, and good at entertaining yourself.
You don't need an expensive big city to keep you busy.
You'll take the peaceful life over the stressful life any day of the week.
You Like Names that Are Retro and Fashionable
You like names that are from the past but becoming modern again.
Names with a strong history are very appealing to you.

You're a big believer in giving children very adult sounding names.
You're not a fan of nicknames or newfangled spellings.

Some female names you might like: Audrey, Emma, Fiona, Georgia, Isabelle, Naomi, Rosemary, and Veronica

Some male names you might like: Brendan, Colin, Ethan, Jared, Kenneth, Martin, and Nathaniel

How about that...and I have Nathan down as a future boys name...

    Your Mind is Yellow
Of all the mind types, yours is the most intellectual.
You crave mental stimulation, and your thoughts tend to very complex.
Your thoughts tend to be innovative and cutting edge, though many people don't understand them.

You tend to spend a lot of time thinking about science, architecture, and communication.
