they are good..I mean sure some things get left out and personal opinion on Joseph .. .too much nudity and such but guess that was the way of portraying Egyptian culture at that time

    Current books:

    Ponderings:

When pilate washed his hands was he saying I'm not responsible or was he insulting the Hebrews by using their hand washing custom?

  • Quantum Leap

    Did anyone else watch this?

I saw a few reruns as a child but over the past year my family has been checking these out from the library and really got into them.

Spoiler below...do not read on if you haven't seen them and plan to...you've been warned

    the way it ended though

if Al and Beth stayed together and Al's life was happy, chances are he never met Sam so he is not the hologram/help to Sam yet Sam is still jumping around in time so that means some other person must be connected to him holographically ....

It'd be cool if they'd bring a movie or something back to catch up on Sam's leaps.

ok that's the "geek" in me ...but I don't really view QL or quanalee as DS called it as a geeky show.

  • Pray please and thank you

My DH just took my son to some info meeting for cub scouts with his friend and his son but I'm worried.

We homeschool.   I don't want my son exposed to kids who don't come from families with similar values.

We also don't do typical western christian holidays and I'm not hip on others teaching my son about easter, halloween, christmas, etc ....  we follow along with Hebrew Roots since we've been grafted in and I don't want my son confused.

    is this making any sense.

Would my son not be allowed in any cub scout group because of the holiday thing?

my DH is going to call me as soon as he gets to whatever church it is they've gone to tonight but he says I'm very hard to please and find fault in everything and that I am too overprotective because I said I don't want my son on campouts with boys who will be telling dirty jokes and such ...  I want to raise a better standard boy than many I knew as a youth myself.

    Pray please and thank you

  • Sabbath

I posed the following  last week on a forum labeled Sh'ma Y'Israel

What say you? Is 6th day at sunset the real 6th day at sunset? My DH says days have been changed throughout history.

Are we free to choose which day we regard/keep as Sabbath? I get that at the bottom of page 450 in Fam Guide to Bib-Days book .... when I was searching for proof that the Sabbath has always been the 7th day and that is the day the 4th commandment is referring to ... not something that says each one can decide ... I mean in that case who cares if we say the 1st day has now become the Sabbath or how about the 4th day, it's a good day for me to halt everything....?

am I making any sense? I'm a bit flustered at the moment.

And after a week I only received a lame reply for DH and I to pray about which day we want to keep as Sabbath and how we want to celebrate it.

Well my DH is of the sun day mindset ... I can't do that anymore knowing it's wrong and I'm sick and tired of hearing people say we can choose our own days to celebrate and we can interpret the Scriptures any old way we see fit .... I'm not sure that is the wisest decision.

  • the neighbor sounded mad this AM ... PRAY for me....Please

she'll probably be knocking on my door later today ... how can she get upset at me over the 30mph wind we had yesterday and our parking spaces are like sardines in a can tight.

I'm worried about how much $$$ she's going to demand ... and I don't necessarily want my insurance rate to go higher for a weather induced blunder...and I have a mark on a car door of mine from her car and I've never complained  .....

UpDaTe: She came home and knocked on my door right away.  She said her sweetheart could get the paint off and she had some buddies that may be able to get the dent out...we'll just have to wait and see.  She and I both commented that we both have noticed burgundy/white paint on our back doors from the kiddos and I'm sure that if it was just the door that hit her car it would have been no biggie but it hit her car with 30mph wind force and that is what caused the damage.  She knows I didn't purposely do it.  So thank you YHVH and thank you to those who prayed.  I'm praying her buddies can fix it and it will all be ok.  And my DH decided to give me a lesson on how I need to hold my door with 2 hands not just one when trying to squeeze out the door with an armload of items....yeah thanks dear.

  • Yuck

The wind blew my vehicle door open as I was trying to get out and smacked the car beside me.  It's my neighbor's car.  I'm awaiting what she'll say, as she's not home yet.  Prayer please

my DH is complaining because some guy at works 5 year old can read and do math and yet our son has to think to answer 3+3 and says he doesn't know what a plus sign is.  DH says our DS should get 50 minutes a day in each subject and be smarter than the other kids....my take is I don't want to burden him with that much school work and cause him to hate school work in the long run and hello there are 12 years of this stuff.

then DH way layed me about saturday not being the Sabbath because people all thru time have been changing the days how do we know it's the real 7th day.  and when he was a kid they went to a 2 hour service, lunch at church then hours of prayer/singing followed by another service that is really keeping the whole Sabbath and I said Sabbath keeping does not mean being in church all day and I am not under constantine's rule and am not catholic and DH retailiated with "you're not Jewish either" so I said "I've been grafted in"

well time to review Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays, maybe it will have something in there.

  • Pray for me

I'm going to see my Nanna today.  I haven't seen her since december of 2005 .... she said something that really hurt me....of course I'm sure she's oblivious to her words.

You see I was in the first phase of a south beach type diet.  In the book and from many others with what I have there are ladies who were unable to conceive and they did the low carb thing for 3 months and foudn themselves pregnant.  I have a condition that is due to insulin irregularities and each time I've tried to eat low carb, even if I cheated, I still had a cycle.  ((tmi?  too bad this is my journal))

anywho so there I was on my second week of phase I and my Nanna is telling me to basically throw in the towel because G-D blesses whom HE wants to and she's referring to my heathen cousins who were both pregnant at the time, one with her 5th child and the other with her 3rd child and all this in  4 years.

I didn't understand my Nanna's logic,  I mean I know HE is no respector of persons but to make it sound like those who want nothing to do with HIM are being blessed/rewarded with children while I the one who worships at HIS feet die a little each time I hear about another pregnancy/newborn .... that didn't make sense to me.

So I haven't seen her since.

Today if she talks about my cousins and their brood I'm going to try and politely tell her that I don't want to know.

In fact since we only share the same bio-grandma and not grandpa, they aren't even on my family tree I'm working on.  The site I'm using doesn't show things like divorces/deaths and remarriages so it's a moot point.

I mean I am her first grand-daughter and I gave her the first great grandson so you'd think she could pray for me or encourage me to pursue what ever avenue YHWH shows me regarding the be fruitful and multiply command instead of discouraging and frustrating me.

  • Golden Calf

Last Night before HavDalah we were reading/discussing the Torah portion.  We started with Exodus 30:11 and ended at 32:10 because the discussion got deep with just those first 10 verses of chapter 32.  Let me put those here for you.

1And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
2And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.
3And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.
4And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
5And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD.
6And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play.
7And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:
8They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
9And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people:
10Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

Aaron learns a lesson here that humbles him for further service as high priest.  He gave into the pressure and made the people what they asked for but tried to keep "one foot" in YHWH's camp by saying it was just an image to represent the very G-D who brought them up out of Egypt and so they were going to offer a feast complete with offerings unto it but also mix in a little of the cultural feast things they learnt in Egypt as well...just for familiarity, comfort, to please the masses etc....

This brought us to discuss how 12/25 and the other so called "christian" day are nothing more than golden calves in our generations.  We've come up with our own way to worship YHWH.  We say something is "OK" because we're doing it in remembrance of HIM and attributing it to HIM.

When we learn something is wrong, should we continue there in just because everyone else is still caught up in it?

I pray YHWH moves and brings more people into the truth of Romans chapter 11 and Ephesians chapter 2 and the book of Jacob ((you know this as James because of King James wanting a book in the Bible named after him but Yeshua's brother was really named Jacob who wrote this book...think about it and he had a wife and children so someone on this planet may be able to trace their ancestory to Mary and on back....hmmm..I digress)) That yes it's faith but faith without works is trampled on.

I love Torah!  It explains every aspect of the fact that we should not always dwell on what we are saved from so much as what we are saved to or the purpose of our salvation.  The Torah spells out the gospel message beginning right there in the first 5 books of the Bible.  And if that's not enough there are 61 more books to get your attention.  We also have many lessons we can learn from the people in just Genesis through Deuteronomy.

Our discussion last night went from here to the cheap grace that's being taught in some churches across America and how one dad there does not want to expose his children to it nor any other things that one day they may find out are not totally correct.

That segwayed into how bad public schools have become and those words were straight from the mouths of two teachers who work at one.  One of whom confirmed that of the 7-8 hours a day a child is there, that only 3 of those hours are productive instruction...and that's a room full of kids, with my one child we shouldn't take 3 hours to complete a days worth of studies.  I didn't get around to asking those teachers if they truly felt that public school was "real life" as my DH and many in his family commonly think.

We also discussed whether it's possible to get ahold of those in charge at churches so the Truth can get out there.....

This morning as DH and DS were getting ready to go the AG church and I my Intro to Jewish Roots class, DH informs me that his family and church members find me strange because I spent a few years in a church that meets in someone's living room and why would I want to with the blessing of church buildings now.  Then he as usual accused me of being cultish because of this Yeshua thing when it's Jesus...just like his name is Joey but people call him Joe, he says same diff.  Then he tells me that his mom has decided to take me up on my invite to the next Shabbat service that my Intro class is having and DH says he may come if he is not working but just one time and that he is not buying into any of it.   He also took offense at my concerns that my own son may learn some things at his church that are not completely/wholly Biblical.

And that brings us full circle back to the golden calf incident.  I can not just zip my lips and continue attending a church knowing the Truth.  I can not go along with the masses because then I would be falsely worshipping YHVH and that's an abomination.  Because the catholic church in which we get many of the things we do in so called protestant churches is just a mix of a whole bunch of gobbledy gook that I want no part of.  I only want what YHWH has said...no babylonian influences.

    Deuteronomy 12:30-32
30Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.
31Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have burnt in the fire to their gods.
32What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it.

This morning at Intro class we learned that a local cemetary ((er uh seminary)) will have a new class teaching how G-D's law is Torah starting next fall.  And a local conference that is held right here that many preachers from all over attend for training is considering having a class on why they should be teaching Jewish studies to their congregation.  Your prayers are needed here.  Move hand of YHWH move!!!

    J.B. also told us to

Remember the Jews don't hate Christians, but they are afraid of them....why, read your history books.

I want to end with something I heard on a local radio broadcast today:

Does your pastor only preach that the Jews rejected Jesus so therefore they've been rejected and the church replaces them?  Jeremiah 31 tells us the house of Israel and Judah is who the new covenant is made with not the church, you have to be part of Israel or grafted in via Yeshua.  In order for YHVH to be G-D of all, HE must be G-D of Israel.  And peace for Israel will mean peace for all.

Leviticus 22:10-11  really spells it out for us
10There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest, or an hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.
11But if the priest buy any soul with his money, he shall eat of it, and he that is born in his house: they shall eat of his meat.

Who is The High Priest after the order of Melchizedek who paid for you?  ah ha....eye opening ain't it!!!

((speaking of Melchizedek, the king of Salem....wouldn't that mean where Mount Moriah was there should be a town close to it?  Salem, Jabesh-Gilead, then Jerusalem..... does anyone understand my train of thought?))

    Psalm 122:6
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: ((never noticed that it had to be a fit man before....hmmm spiritually? physically?  both?  fit?))

  • 2 Topics

Eathquake causes hole on Temple Mount and of course the islamics are blaming Israel .... like a they caused an earthquake....J.B. said this would happen that Israel would be blamed even if it was a natural cause that did any damage.  Maybe YHWH is wanting them to dig all that dirt out and find the Truth that the remains of the Temple are there and that mohammed never even visited Jerusalem, that their "3rd most holy city" was made up later.

    in other news:

a local Messianic congregation I attend about 3 times a month is letting voters know the top 2 prez candidates on each sides foreign policy.  So I inquired as to why they didn't put R.Paul's foreign policy up for readers and the reply:

Ron Paul is a fringe candidate with very limited support and no possibility of being elected.  I suspect, from his campaign literature and fund-raising efforts, that his "presidential campaign" was a means of raising money for his congressional campaign.

Besides, one of the major planks of his platform is non-intervention.  His foreign policy is to have no foreign policy, which I believe was thoroughly discredited with Woodrow Wilson.

However, as I said, there is absolutely no possibility of a self-proclaimed libertarian getting the Republican nomination, even if there is a brokered convention, which seems unlikely at this point.  Mathematically, Mitt Romney, who dropped out, has a better chance than Ron Paul.

Ignoring the media and the internet, it is votes that matter.  Paul has not got them.  His "netroots" support turned out to be pretty ephemeral in the voting booth.

So, no, I am not going to include him or Dennis Kucinich in the front runners.

    What????
