  • Goals 2008

First some background.  I thought there should be four parts to my goals list for 2008 and cover three areas where applicable in each of the four parts.  Let me explain why.  And thank Anna for the insight

    Deuteronomy 6:4-5

4Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. ((could this be both mind and strength...possibly....a smooshed word, remember that taking 2 words and melding them into one?))

    Mark 12:29-30

29And Yeshua answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:

30And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

((and you thought Yeshua was all about the new only))

    Renew - Soul - Spiritual

For Yeshua - Praise HIM and Thank HIM Daily

For Others - pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6) Pray for the peace of
                          Jerusalem: they shall
    prosper that love thee.

Personal - Read through the WORD chronologically, Continue with weekly Torah,
Haftarah, and Brit  Hadasha readings, and read one to three
                       TorahClass lessons per week

    Redo - Heart - Relational

For Yeshua - donate food to the food pantry and donate to any charity HE lays on
                           my heart

For Others - Love on DH more, snuggle and play with DS more, be less 'real' with
other family members (vague talk, no more casting my pearls before
                         swine
    ),
and deepen friendships  with like minded Believers

    Revise - Strength - Projects/Physical Goals

For Yeshua - a clutter free and company ready apartment so I can minister and be
hospitable to whomever HE sends our way

For Others - a routine in placed and used so the home is a place of calm and
                          order  for DH & DS

Personal - Eat healthier ((bye bye white sugar)) and cardio workout 3 times per
week and strength train 2 times per week in order to be fit and ready to
                       serve Yah however HE leads

    Reflect - Mind - knowledge/intellect

For Yeshua - attend a Messianic Seminary and finish Volume II by Charlotte
Mason to be better equipped to home educate the precious boy HE
has entrusted to us to raise

For Others - Finish Year 1 and Start Year 2 alongside DS  ((we do it together so he
doesn't feel even more of the only child syndrome))

Personal - land an accounting related career that can mostly be done from my
                       home

"The Bible calls debt a curse and children a blessing. But in todays culture, we apply for a curse and reject blessings. Something is wrong with this picture." Doug Phillips --

  • Wealth of Knowledge

Overlook the chopiness of my notes....trying to work from memory here and wanting to get this out

authority (understanding) ---- power(wisdom, proverbs 4 wisdom is called she)

checks and balances in every relationship (authoritative-ship)...scary when a church or whatever has a top head honcho guy with no one to keep him in line....and as with marriage wife is hub's encouragement and he is her grounding

all about the spirit and feel good  leads to cult worship

Ephesians chapter 5:1-14  talking to people that could get caught up in the worship of aphrodite ....  fornication .....giving up your authority to the seductresses' power.....

some churches are all about oh look how spiritual that person is they speak in tongues every sunday when in reality that person is just as lost as the next guy

many will come in my name and perform miracles in my name .....  yet it's not just worship in spirit but also in Truth

sons and daughters prophecy - not forcast the future that's what cults do but rather understand meaning in Torah  -- oh this is the prayer of mine for my own son that he would embrace Torah not out of obligation or trying to earn his way to heaven but because it's a gift given to us and that he would realize there in is the instructions for how we are to live.

let's do away with saying we have freedom from Torah and instead realize it is freedom but only within the boundary of Torah

Also the rest of chapter 5 and hub/wif relationship .... wife told to submit 2 times but hub told to love 5 times ....it's the harder to do or maybe guys just hard headed....but to love wife as loves himself....hmmmm many guys don't love themselves see the suicide rate and divorce rate....oh i fell out of love with her so you're saying you fell out of love with yourself.

love here in greek is agape, yeah that so called love reserved for G-D....hmmm interesting

also women just more spiritual and sensual when it comes to intimacy with G-D and some guys admit being jealous of that but that's why the men are to say the prayers and blessings and all the roteness of it all because they like children thrive with routine.  ((or so said the guy who taught class today))

ok how does hub love his wife?  it should be more than himself so how can I please her and fulfill her desires and not just in the bedroom.....so when I get my paycheck I should think in terms of what my wife (and children) need not just go and blow the money on some toy I want, just because I want it and don't necessarily need it.

  • How well did I do?

these were my 'goals' for 2007

Many a thing on there some may not agree with but at the time that's what I wanted to accomplish.

#1 - well slowly implementing dietary changes.  I did good for a total of 2 months I'd say on that part and as far as exercising one whole month in the summer and 2 whole months in the fall....so 1/4 the year LOL  Guess we know what 'goal' will also be on the 2008 list <grin>

#2 Home Management Binder - yes it's made ... as far as using it ok something else for 2008 <grin>

#3 - TorahClass online - I'm about half way thru Genesis and I've also been attending an Intro to Jewish Roots class for about 6 months, attending HavDalah where we discuss the week's Torah Portion every other weekend for about 4 months, celebrated RH, YK, Sukkot, and Chanukah, attend a monthl Shabbat Service with said people, and am looking into a Messianic congregation to attend and some Bible classes taught from a Hebrew prospective.

#4 - DONE!  My AAS in Accounting document should be here by Feb according to the records office.  Of the 4 classes, I made 3 A's and 1 B

#5 - Debt go bye bye - we are still in the midst of this one but I believe Yah will bless us and help us as we are faithful in working on this.

Also my BIL that had surgery in Dec 06 is 110% healed thank you Y'Shua and he too is back to sheet metal and he and my sister bought a house in Jan 07 and have been able to do some remodeling...I know I've painted about 4 days this year over there.  Good times

remember the toast to all those buying houses in 2007 and yet MIL tells DH I hope you get over your cold?  Well jokes on her look at my DH and his great new job Yah blessed him with.  I can't mention enough how thankful to Yah I am for this job.  DH only misses walmart when it comes to having a set schedule but UP pays so much more and we have much better insurance than we did from wally world so PRAISE YAH!!!

Well I've got a list for 2008 to make.  Have a great 12.27.07

  • A Joyous Shabbat

I'm so glad Yeshua said it's ok to do good on Shabbat and we don't have to be overly burdened with a bunch of do nots as long as it's not for monetary gain and if it is because you are the bread winner then you are doing good by providing for your family and obeying your boss.

Here's what DS did earlier this week

Here's what he just got done doing today

    Shabbat Shalom

  • Freedom

A guy told J.B. once that he enjoyed being in America where he had freedom to do whatever he wanted.  J.B. tells the guy sure the Constitution and Bill of Rights give you freedom and liberty but that is to do what's right and if you violate someone else freedom to do what's right then you are no longer free to do as you please.

What about you?  Are you saying to yourself, "I don't want to be under the law" as if it's a legalistic issue?

    many christians twist this verse:

    II Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Is that freedom to do whatever you want?

    NO

It is freedom to do what is right!

Well how do we know what is right?  Torah is where we find the answer.

    II Corinthians 4:3
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  (the niv says perishing here)

Many hearts are hard and the Light can't get through to them.

I know for me this journey is one of really understanding that it's not just "New Testament" but also "Old Testament"

I just pray the veils will be removed and hearts would be softened and Y'Shua would reveal HIMself completely to my family and friends.

I'm sorry that there are hearts that are not open to accepting that the foundation on which they base their faith is not whole and they have been spoon fed lies.

    II Timothy 4:3
    For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

Many today are seeking preachers that will say what their itching ears want to hear.  I know some in my own family who disagree with certain parts of the Bible and say they can believe/accept/follow all but those certain things.  How sad.

I have a huge thirst/hunger for the WORD.

Even today I told someone near to me that I know a family and the dad wants nothing to do with churchianity anymore because he sees the world and a majority of the bad stuff is done by those who grew up in church and he wants to protect his children from that.  SO my loved one says I agree you find the some of the worst people in church.  I said me too I believe parents are first and foremost responsible for teaching Yah's way to the children HE has placed in their care and to stop telling themselves oh the pastor or children's pastor or youth pastor or sunday school teacher can teach these things to my kid and that parents can read the WORD to their own children.  My loved one replied they agreed but that we shouldn't believe what other people say is how the WORD is to be interpreted.   That one made me frown because no I don't believe you should just believe someone's word for what they think the WORD is saying.  After reading it for yourself also, the Holy Spirit can interpret it for you but if you read just one portion without a working knowledge of all of it then you may believe a lie or think Scripture contradicts, when we know Scripture is always right.  Also it is possible for us in our human minds to twist Scripture to make it say what we think it should and mean what we think it should.

In fact J.B. said tonight that after years of wondering if G-D even existed, he realized that he was having such a hard time because his pee-brained sized human mind is probably not even capable of understanding G-D and instead he should begin with just submitting, repenting, and obeying and in time G-D revealed more of HIMself to J.B.

He restated that many times obedience comes before change/understaning/break-through etc.

    Romans 6:16
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

    Romans 7:10
And the commandment, which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

    Romans 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

What is this law of sin and death?  It has nothing to do with the 10 Commandments.  The law of sin and death was given in the Garden of Eden

    Genesis 2:17
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

  • Have To Share

in a yahoo group I am in someone's friend wrote a song:

to the tune of...O christmas tree obviously...

O pagan tree, O pagan tree
you know you once decieved me
    (repeat)
    Blinded by idolatry,
Yeshua came and set me free
A Menorah stands where you used to be
A Jewish heart now lives in me
    (chorus)

    That is too funny

  • My Brain

    Brain Lateralization Test Results
Right Brain (30%) The right hemisphere is the visual, figurative, artistic, and intuitive side of the brain.
Left Brain (66%) The left hemisphere is the logical, articulate, assertive, and practical side of the brain
Are You Right or Left Brained?
    personality tests by similarminds.com

Left brain dominant individuals are more orderly, literal, articulate, and to the point. They are good at understanding directions and anything that is explicit and logical. They can have trouble comprehending emotions and abstract concepts, they can feel lost when things are not clear, doubting anything that is not stated and proven.

Right brain dominant individuals are more visual and intuitive. They are better at summarizing multiple points, picking up on what's not said, visualizing things, and making things up. They can lack attention to detail, directness, organization, and the ability to explain their ideas verbally, leaving them unable to communicate effectively.

Overall you appear to be Left Brain Dominant

    -----------------------------------------

According to Darwinian theory, optimal evolution takes place with random variation and selective retention. The evolution savvy individual will try many different approaches when faced with a problem and select the best of those approaches. Many historical intellectuals have confessed their advantage was simply considering/exploring/trying more approaches than others. The left brain dominant type suffers from limited approaches, narrow-mindedness. The right brain dominant type suffers from too many approaches, scatterbrained. To maintain balanced hemispheres, you need to exercise both variability and selection. Just as a company will have more chance of finding a great candidate by increasing their applicant pool, an individual who considers a wider set of options is more likely to make quality decisions.

  • Just for Fun....not sure I agree

In what time era do you belong?

You are in the Victorian Age. And what a beautiful age it is! You want an age away from the one we live in right now. You want to live in a place where there is beauty and well mannered people. A place where the family and friends are indeed very important. A place filled with fashion. The Vicotrian age is perfect for you, it has all of that plus the added bonus of horse drawn carriages.

  • Luke & Psalm 12.04.07

    Luke 11:33-36

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.  The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness.  Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness.  If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Special that I would read that just as Hanukkah 5768 was starting

    Luke 11:46

And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers (the Stearns says Torah experts)! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.

I hear Yeshua saying it's good to teach Torah and to follow Torah but don't just tell people how to do it, help them....of course Yeshua is our help HE lived it perfectly and if HE is in us HE will help us also.

Psalm 19:7-11 Complete Jewish Bible (Stearns)  version

The Torah of Adonai is perfect,
    restoring the inner person.
The instruction of Adonai is sure,
    making wise the thoughtless.
The precepts of Adonai are right,
    rejoicing the heart.
The mitzvah of Adonai is pure,
    enlightening the eyes.
The fear of Adonai is clean,
    enduring forever.
The rulings of Adonai are true,
    they are righteous altogether,
    more desirable than gold,
    than much fine gold,
    also sweeter than honey
    or drippings from the honeycomb.
    Through them your servant is warned;
in obeying them there is great reward.

  • More Deep Questions...but these have answers

I was thinking ok Yeshua born during Sukkot ....hmmm but in Bethlehem...what about the requirement to be in Jerusalem for Sukkot or did the government's census overrule that?

so I googled  Yeshua born during Sukkot+what about Jerusalem

and this article came up  http://bethhamashiach.com/whenwasYeshuaborn.htm

I found it clarified my question perfectly.

    next question:

yesterday I learned that it was customary to offer sacrifices to mythra on crosses .... so I was wondering if Pesach and Ishtar lined up the year Yeshua gave HIS life for us.

the only thing I could find so far is a comment left by someone stating

"The cross, as it were, was a pagan sacrificial alter to the roman sun god mithra. They were use to offer sacrifice to their god in thanks for the conquering of lands and also to kingdoms. The high priest ((i hope he means babylonian)) carried one with him on a staff. That''s why when they hung Yahshua on it, the lights went out. No one got the hint. Yahweh wasn''t going to allow his son to be a form of worship to the sun. "

I am not sure where they learned this at...  anyone know where more info can be found?

also I learned that to even speak greek pays homage to false deities .... hmmm and what do most people call Yeshua?
