  • My first day

Yesterday, I attended the big baptist church.  In the morning I was browsing the churches website and saw that they have 2 Messianic classes.  One at 8:15 am then service at 9:30am and then another class at 11am...well I was excited and up anyway so I went to all 3.

8:15am class - Shoresh Bible Study

ok some meeting is going to take place and U.S., Israel, and the former plo/current fattah party are going to be at this meeting.  Apparently we and Israel are going to give fattah money to get rid of hamas...but the leader of the fattah party uses a new name now but we also know him as abu maza (sp?) and he was the terrorist who headed up some munich olympic thing (maybe you know what he was  talking about, I am new to world events and not that old so forgive me for not knowing what he is talking about)  so basically we are giving money to a known terrorist because he is the lesser of 2 evils...anyone else saying I. CAN'T. THINK. LIKE. THAT....????

also learned that in 70 AD rome changed the name of Jerusalem to Palestine after the Philistines....but they have been dead for centuries...who we know as the palestinians have only existed since 1962 .  They have no claim or right to the land.  interesting discussion for the morning....I can really get into that and it may be hard to get my hiney up and ready and there on time but it would be worth it.

9:30am service -  Messianic Psalm of David (at a baptist church...of all places.)

Band called Addison Road led worship.  It was great.  They are in town to work with their youth and do an outreach this week.  The guys could really play their instruments well and she could really sing.  So nice to see young people using the talent YHWH gave them to glorify HIM.  (Holy is the Lord God Almighty.  The earth is filled with HIS Glory.  was the song they sang)

the pastor their showed Psalm 22 was like David was there at the crucifixion - read Psalm 22 and see all the ways it sounds like what happened to Yeshua and even HIS very words.  In David's day crucifying someone was unheard of.

    We had communion.

11am class - INtro to Jewish roots.

got invited to the once a month Shabbat held at the church.  Looking forward to that.  Currently I can only observe the Sabbath with rest from unecessary work.  So looking forward to learning more and of course not conjoling my DH into anything but maybe a quiet and pleasant testimony will be the right way to go.

On the board was written -

    Within Judaism:
"Tradition is not the dead faith of the living, but the living faith of the dead." Dr. Marvin Wilson

    ( I don't get it. ??)

Hebrews chapter 12 was the focus

verse 1 the word endurance as in our Bibles is actually agony in greek.  Agony entails effort, work, and some suffering.

Verses 5-8  remember YHWH chastens those HE loves, so if you see your neighbor never being chastened by YHWH that can't be good.

Redemption - can't just take it....need to be humble (humility) and repent.

The word pride in that chapter means a long greek word that means a big nothing or where we get the words phantom and famous from - LOL famous = big nothing!!

He said in boot camp they had to march for hours before the sun came up.  And they all had to do it, if just one person got out of line or whimped out, they all had to re-do it.  He said he can remember one time marching along, it was dark, and his right foot went into a hole twisting his ankle.  He did a sommersault out of the formation and the guys behind him quickly got out of line and picked him and carried him in the marching formation to the finish point.

He said it's like that sometimes.  Their are strong and weak believers.  The strong ones need to just bite the bullet sometimes.  You may say but I'm not strong, he says you are in Yeshua.

That turn the other cheek thing only applies to insults.  If someone hurts your family you can and should defend them.

YHWH can compromise on strategy when dealing with a person (maybe why it seems some get dealt harsher hands than others) but HE will not compromise on principle.  Torah is Torah.  HIS Word is Law...HE will not compromise on that.

Then they understood that holiness meant obedience...but we have the greek philosophy passed down to the catholic church of dualism - meaning we seperate spiritual from physical.  Seeing the first as good and holy and the latter as bad or evil.  Why monks torture themselves.  Plus someone pointed out that even the word Holy is not longer properly used,  that it should be Holy Days but we've changed it and abused it and now we have holidays and that in schools with the seperating of church and state ("spiritual" and physical) that means they can't teach the true meaning of the word.

YHWH says I created both the physical and the spiritual.  All are good.  The instructor said YHWH has given us all work and play for enjoyment.  It is good to please YHWH by enjoying that which HE has given us.  We could even be held accountable for not partaking in a form of fun that HE has provided (as long as it is appropriate according to HIM that is)

Verse 23 church in our Bibles should mean called out or a court...this is a legal system here.  and it should be heavens, plural, but even the KJV just says heaven.

A lady that sat by me had a Hebrew Bible.  She told me to search for Faith Exchange or Dan Stratton to get one.  She got hers from New York.  The names of the books are in Hebrew and YHWH is written in Hebrews but the rest was in English.  The Bible comes from Africa.
