  • Ignorance or Cop Out?

You can be right with YHWH and ignorant of HIS Law or maybe you take the "we're not under the law" cop out...?  Which one?

Three 30 minute mp3 radio archives for more info:

10 Commandments Part One, Two, Three

Also, do you favor children's church or do you prefer your child(ren) to be in the pew with you wherever you attend Worship and whatever the day that yours meet is on?

When I was a teen I liked children's church and felt it was important, that children can't sit still during church and so they need the children's watered down and mostly just games time...but as I have grown and my son has grown, I believe differently.  Sure children may not sit still and be absolutely quiet during service but I agree it is best they be in the adult service.

On the 6th day of the week last week, some lady was trying to tell me that my son would love her church (Evangel Temple) and it's children's church program.  I stopped and said I don't believe in that, and she was like oh but your son would have such a good time...????  go to church to have a good time?  is that all people think about when they think of attending church, just to have a good time?

I took my son out of the Assembly of God wednesday night program in favor of what is traditionally thought of as a Baptist program because Awanas involves the memorization of scripture.  Sure the girls in the AG programs have to memorize a ton of scripture- or at least I did 10 years ago, now it's easier- but the boys at the furch where my son was going get told some simple "biblical" story - like treat girls like your sisters in Christ...ok guys let's go play basketball or toss the football around...sure they go camping and all but what are dads and grandads for, ya know.

We attended the award service for Awana last May and there were 3 boys who had completed Awanas grades 3-12, doing all the memorization work and received an award that equated to a scholarship to an east coast college.  Now that seems worthwhile.

so again, I am not for watered down children's church.  A church that has a pastor who takes a few minutes out of the service to gather the children up front for an object lesson is ok in my book, but a whole 1.5 hours or more of just silly songs and games, NO.  My son does just fine in a pew or at Home Church, sure he may be coloring or playing with toy cars, but I know he is listening and getting the message.  In fact when it's prayer time, my sister says she is so proud of her nephew because he is right there, eyes closed, and saying "yes, Jesus.  Thank you, Jesus."  So he is learning far more by being an active participant with us adults than just being tucked away somewhere with all the others kids.

Maybe you disagree.  And we are all allowed our opinion, I suppose, but this is just something I have had to deal with recently.  And for those who do get sucked into letting their children do children's church, I just hope they won't invite my son nor me and if I respect their decision, they to will respect mine.

  • Book of Joshua-2007

    060/9/2007  Chapters 1-3

1:7 - Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.

1:11 - Pass through the host, and command the people, saying, Prepare you victuals; for within three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land, which the LORD your God giveth you to possess it.

Chapter 2 : rahab was a harlot and a liar...so it's ok to lie to protect someone?

    06/10/2007  Chapters 4-6
4:24 - That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the LORD, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the LORD your God for ever.

5:10-12 - And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho. And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

    06/11/2007 Chapters 7-9

7:12 - Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned their backs before their enemies, because they were accursed: neither will I be with you any more, except ye destroy the accursed from among you.

7:15 - And it shall be, that he that is taken with the accursed thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he hath: because he hath transgressed the covenant of the LORD, and because he hath wrought folly in Israel.
(wouldn't that stink to be stoned and burned because the head of the house or some person therein committed a sin?...yikes)

8:2 - And thou shalt do to Ai and her king as thou didst unto Jericho and her king: only the spoil thereof, and the cattle thereof, shall ye take for a prey unto yourselves: lay thee an ambush for the city behind it.
(see if Achan had only did as he was told - not take any of Jericho's spoils for himself- then he would have been alive to get something from Ai...oh the impatience)

8:35 - There was not a word of all that Moses commanded, which Joshua read not before all the congregation of Israel, with the women, and the little ones, and the strangers that were conversant among them.

9:7 - And the men of Israel said unto the Hivites, Peradventure ye dwell among us; and how shall we make a league with you?

9:14-16 - And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD. And Joshua made peace with them, and made a league with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them. And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbours, and that they dwelt among them.

9:17 - And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim.

(are these from where the palestinians come?)

9:25 - And now, behold, we are in thine hand: as it seemeth good and right unto thee to do unto us, do.
(did they mean it or were they plotting to destroy the Israelites, after all the palestinians don't want peace with their neighbors or even among themselves)

    06/12/2007  Chapters 10-12

10:41-42 - And Joshua smote them from Kadeshbarnea even unto Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even unto Gibeon. And all these kings and their land did Joshua take at one time, because the LORD God of Israel fought for Israel.

11:16 - So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;  ( I thought Goshen was the area they lived in while in egypt? Genesis 47:27)

11:19 - There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

11:22-23  - There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

12:24 - The king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one. (not the same Tirzah, daughter of Zelophehad  who was given land on the east of the Jordan)

    06/13/2007 Chapters13-15

15:47 - Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof: (belongs to Israel)

15:63 - As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
     (hrm)

    06/14/2007 Chapters 16-18

16:10 - And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer: but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day, and serve under tribute.

17:11-13 - And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher Bethshean and her towns, and Ibleam and her towns, and the inhabitants of Dor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Endor and her towns, and the inhabitants of Taanach and her towns, and the inhabitants of Megiddo and her towns, even three countries. Yet the children of Manasseh could not drive out the inhabitants of those cities; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land. Yet it came to pass, when the children of Israel were waxen strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, but did not utterly drive them out.

7:16 - And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Bethshean and her towns, and they who are of the valley of Jezreel.

7:18 - But the mountain shall be thine; for it is a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.

18:1 - And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. (Shiloh means peace)

    06/15/2007 Chapters 19-21

19:15 - And Kattath, and Nahallal, and Shimron, and Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages. (for Zebulun's lands, but Yeshua is from tribe of Judah, yes Matthew chapter 1)

20:7-9 - And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which is Hebron, in the mountain of Judah. And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.

21:43-45 - And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he sware unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.

    06/16/2007 Chapters 22-24

22:4-6 - And now the LORD your God hath given rest unto your brethren, as he promised them: therefore now return ye, and get you unto your tents, and unto the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of the LORD gave you on the other side Jordan. But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul. So Joshua blessed them, and sent them away: and they went unto their tents. (maybe they are the essenes among whome the dead sea scrolls were found?)

22:34 - And the children of Reuben and the children of Gad called the altar Ed: for it shall be a witness between us that the LORD is God.
( ok how many people now want to name their boys Ed?  hmmm...grin)

23:14-16 - And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof. Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you. When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.

(the USA would be smart to heed this warning as well)

24:24 - And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey.

Yesterday DS decided he could swim and even go under water without the use of a lifejacket or those swimsuits with floateys bulit in...so MARKING A MILESTONE in DS's life

  • Deuteronomy in 2007

1:11 - (The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)

5:10 - And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

6:7 - And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.  (How can you do this, if you send your kids to school and they are gone from you 35+ hours a week?....)

15:8 - But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. (Made me think of Proverbs 31:20)

16:16-17 - 16Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the LORD empty:  17Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the LORD thy God which he hath given thee.

18:13 - Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.

31:8 - And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

32:7 - Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.

32:14 - Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape.  (grape juice?, that would be pure, right, not fermented, that wouldn't be pure anymore...? and no I am not preaching "thou shalt not drink" here)

32:15-30   future prophetic meaning for the 70 AD incident also?  what does MH have to say...Here are two instances of the wickedness of Israel, each was apostacy from God. These people were called Jeshurun, "an upright people," so some; "a seeing people," so others: but they soon lost the reputation both of their knowledge and of their righteousness. They indulged their appetites, as if they had nothing to do but to make provision for the flesh to fulfil the lusts of it. Those who make a god of themselves, and a god of their bellies, in pride and wantonness, and cannot bear to be told of it, thereby forsake God, and show they esteem him lightly. There is but one way of a sinner's acceptance and sanctification, however different modes of irreligion, or false religion, may show that favourable regard for other ways, which is often miscalled candid. How mad are idolaters, who forsake the Rock of salvation, to run themselves upon the rock of perdition!  The revolt of Israel was described in the foregoing verses, and here follow the resolves of Divine justice as to them. We deceive ourselves, if we think that God will be mocked by a faithless people. Sin makes us hateful in the sight of the holy God. See what mischief sin does, and reckon those to be fools that mock at it. The idolatry and rebellions of Israel deserved, and the justice of God seemed to demand, that they should be rooted out. But He spared Israel, and continues them still to be living witnesses of the truth of the Bible, and to silence unbelievers. They are preserved for wise and holy purposes and the prophecies give us some idea what those purposes are. The Lord will never disgrace the throne of his glory. It is great wisdom, and will help much to the return of sinners to God, seriously to consider their latter end, or the future state. It is here meant particularly of what God foretold by Moses, about this people in the latter days; but it may be applied generally. Oh that men would consider the happiness they will lose, and the misery they will certainly plunge into, if they go on in their trespasses!

  • Was the "amnesty" issue a ruse so we wouldn't notice the following?

I know some of you can't stand WND but even Herb linked to it as the way I found this article.   Any time the President signs something without our consent or the congresses consent is scary to me.  Like he signed into law those new national ID's and every state is suppose to be making the changes towards them and also signed into law that the President can declare martial law at any time...I'm not saying our current president would use it, but he did make it easier for a future President to do so.

Here's the article that caught my eye this morning.

    THE NEW WORLD DISORDER
Bush OKs 'integration' with European Union
Congress never asked about new obligation

    Posted: May 8, 2007

    By Jerome R. Corsi

President Bush signed an agreement creating a "permanent body" that commits the U.S. to "deeper transatlantic economic integration," without ratification by the Senate as a treaty or passage by Congress as a law.

The "Transatlantic Economic Integration" between the U.S. and the European Union was signed April 30 at the White House by Bush, German Chancellor Angela Merkel – the current president of the European Council – and European Commission President José Manuel Barroso.

The document acknowledges "the transatlantic economy remains at the forefront of globalization," arguing that the U.S. and the European Union "seek to strengthen transatlantic economic integration."

The agreement established a new Transatlantic Economic Council to be chaired on the U.S. side by a cabinet-level officer in the White House and on the EU side by a member of the European Commission.

The current U.S. head of the new Transatlantic Economic Council is Allan Hubbard, assistant to the president for Economic Policy and director of the National Economic Council.

The current EU head of the council is Günther Verheugen, vice-President of the European Commission in charge of enterprise and industry.

The Transatlantic Economic Council was tasked with creating regulatory convergence between the U.S. and the EU on some 40 different public policy areas, including intellectual property rights, developing security standards for international trade, getting U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Practices) recognized in Europe, developing innovation and technology in health industries, implementing RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technologies, developing a science-based plan on bio-based products and establishing a "regular dialogue" to address obstacles to investment.

At a joint press conference, Bush thanked the other two leaders for signing the "trans-Atlantic economic integration plan," commenting that, "It is a recognition that the closer that the United States and the EU become, the better off our people will be."

Barroso said the Transatlantic Economic Council is meant to be "a permanent body, with senior people on both sides of the Atlantic."

OK wait a minute so now we are integrated with Europe? What was the point of the American Revolution?

  • A Heart Ablaze - Part VIII

I thought I better post this, since tonight I will probably get to see part 10

Originally the following took place on May 17th, 2007

    Breadbox time

Pastor's verses- Psalm 50:15 - And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

and John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Mrs. Pastor's verse - Psalm 86:5 - For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

my BIL's verse - Psalm 147:3 - He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

my sister's verse - Psalm 34:19 - Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

DS's verses-  Psalm 121:2 - My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

and Zechariah 2:10 - Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

my verse - Isaiah 30:19 - For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

    Heart Ablaze part 8

topics:  Issue of weakness, Source of POWER, and misunderstanding about GRACE

    SAVING GRACE

blow junk away ; incorrect believing keeps us from receiving

II Corinthians 6:14-17      dwell among us is conditional

II Corinthians 7:1 - Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

IN but not OF ... don't love what they do, do what they do, want what they want etc....

Don't confuse justification (begins when born again) and sanctification (works inside out)

EPITELEO (Greek for perfecting) take upon oneself to complete

II Corinthians 6:1 - We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

most think it is just a big cover up but should be thought of as empowering presence that vies us the ability to do what truth demands of us.

Matthew 7:20 - Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

fruits or lifestyle - not words, tongues, attend church, but their conduct or behavior

    Matthew 7:21a - Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;

John B. said most preach Jesus like some kind of used car, they promote formula prayers and altar calls - he said SHAME to that!   He said that kind of preaching uses the Just As I Am song and the next verse would be Just As They Are...in other words no change, just think they are covered and can go on living like they do.... ((dissing the grace))

that preaching just a cover up usage of the GRACE leaves out the repent, deny, and take up your cross because not all who have just prayed the prayer are going to heaven.

THEN WHO IS GOING TO HEAVEN???  read the second part of the verse

Matthew 7:21b - but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

OH those who DO the WILL

so not just CONFESS but also DO

Matthew 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

John B. then showed us a pattern in Matthew chapter 5....I will just post some examples

Matthew 5:21- Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:  (he said old way)

Matthew 5:22 - But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. ( he said new way)

Raca  means empty headed, fool means empty and completely godless.   that then prejudice or grudges could be inside as just thoughts but not actions and since no action committed all was ok...but now living in "age of grace" we are called to a higher standard, not just actions judged but also thoughts, feelings, etc...

In other words when living under the law one had to actually do the crime to be guilty but under Grace just think/say and it is like you did it.... ((ouch))

    another example

Matthew 5:27 - Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: Matthew 5:28 - But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Ok some patterns from the 7 churches in Revelation and before he did he said something written as fact in Scripture has a prophetic application.

    Rev. 2:1-2, 8-9, 12-13, 18-19, and 3:1, 7-8, 14-15  all start with I know your works....it doesn't say I know your hearts...

he went on to say many christians jusitify an ungodly lifestyle by saying "HE knows my heart"  -- ((double ouch))

We don't take a drill to an apple tree to see if it is a good tree, rather we judge it by it's fruit.

(( at this point I thought he would tell us the parable of the fig tree, but he did not))

he said notice he will now quote Scripture from the NEW testament.

James 2:24 - Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Don't scream heretic, we can preach a half truth and it would still be a falsehood and then we'd reject real truth because we would be embracing a half truth/falsehood

rat poisoning in 97% cornleam but 3% poison

1st half = saved by Grace not of works .... can't say my good works got me into heaven

2nd half = works prove you have Grace ... help us to live our live in a way that shows we have The Grace

    A. Justification - by faith alone but not by faith that is alone

    B. if no Sanctification there was never a true Justification

for example do we say we have faith but no works follow?  because true faith would conform us to Christ

He said if you don't use the Grace then you've received it in vain and to illustrate his point he gave a good story:

you are at the base of a volcano that is about to erupt.  You have 24 hours to get at least 250+ miles away but you have no car, so you have no hope to get that far away in order to be safe.  A guy knocks on your door with keys to a new vehicle. You tell him you do not have any money to pay for the car, he replies that he is giving it to you.  You question why and he replies because I love you more than myself...so now you've got the keys or your saved...so you get a map and read the manual and sit in the seat of the car and take a good look at it and call all your friends to tell them about your gift wasting the whole 24 hours....WHOOSH the volcano erupts and you are obliterated..  Your friends will say you received the car in vain.

I John 2:1- My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

notice it says IF not WHEN...the goal is not to sin but you do have an advocate

I John 2:3 - And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. ((Our Pastor is always asking us How does Jesus know us? and this is the answer))

I John 2:4- He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

I John 2:6- He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

    bad fruit = continuously/repetively sinning

Not someone who struggles with something that cries out to the LORD and tries to shake it and the LORD is helping to overcome (bad habits, smoking, drinking, etc)

But rather the one who sins and just shrugs and says I'm forgiven so it's ok... (he has a problem with those not perfect  just forgiven bumper stickers)

PolyCarp 69-156AD said that we are saved by Grace not of works; and do HIS will and walk in HIS commands to be raised

Clement of Rome said that we are justified by faith and rewarded according to our works.

It is terrible to water down the Gospel for hollywood, politics, etc.

Acts 26:19-20 - 19Whereupon, O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision:  20But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

Titus 2:11-14 - 11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,  12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;  13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;  14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 3:8 - This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

yet in American culture we affirm it rarely...tsk tsk tsk

Walk in the Power of Grace to maintain good works.

he said that sin in the church is a product of what's been preached ((ouch))

saying just saved by Grace (just forgiven, etc)  = weak christian

but if only they'd realize there is Power in HIS Grace to live above = strength

Remember GRACE is the ability to do what truth demands of us.

Part 9 was going to cover difficult days and awareness but I was unable to go due to speech class practicing/writing speeches.  So one of these days after I can borrow the DVD's I'll post notes on part 6 and part 9...and tonight like I mentioned, I think I get to see part 10 (there are 12 total in case you wonder when this is ever going to end or can't get enough or any variation there of)

  • Last day of speech class went like this...

I got there at 10 minutes to start time to find out our group decided to go first that day...we had to make a quick stop at the library to use the computer and then I was the first person to speak.  I gave my intro speech using the doomsday clock and a publication on preparedness and then introduced the speakers talking about a prophecy they had researched.  I asked each speaker a question when they were finished and then they sat down and I introduced the next speaker and so on til all had spoke then I announced the speakers were going to question each other, they did, then I thanked them and opened it up for audience questions.

Our instructor said something about when blood appears on the moon and that there is talk of a motel 6 being put on the moon and maybe that will lead to blood shed on the moon...

I did ask her when we were finished if it wasn't that the moon will appear as blood, not actually have blood on it...she said she'd have to re-read the passage.

After class was over and everyone filed out, I asked if she would give those who spoke today a grade since the groups that went yesterday already had theirs.  She said they wouldn't be posted til next week but I had nothing to worry about I was one of her best students and she enjoyed having me in the class.

I was like, really?  I felt others did a much better job than I did.

She said she liked me and she told me why.  She said she knew/could tell I was religious and yet I was wise in my topics and the way I presented myself.  We had 2 muslim girls in the room and I never came out and forced my beliefs down anyone's throats but gave subtlely let it be known.

Also ever since the first day in class with the introductions and finding out that I and one other girl had been homeschool graduates (although I was only homeschooled for my last 2 years of highschool) she would always tell me she has had several homeschooled students and they are always the best ones in the class.

I am hoping from the above that later this coming week I can get on here and announce I received an A.

I know I posted that I received an A in the 2 spring semester classes I took.

Ok, 3 of the 4 down and one class to go til I have my AAS in Accounting.

I am glad I waited til now to take speech class.  If I had taken it at an earlier time, I may have not had the instructor and the classmates I had.  Our instructor did not criticize, she didn't believe in it.  She gave grades yes, but no unkind remarks were on our papers.

In fact on the persuasive speech, which was worth 100 points, I think only I and one other girl made an 84 and that was the highest grade received.  the instructor had 10 areas she was watching and each was worth 10 points.  I had mostly 9's, a few 8's and one 7.  And again, no remarks about what I did wrong.

One gal told me she had an instructor that would actually set a timer and tell you to start and you could hear the tic tic tic as it counted down and so if you finished your speech before the minimum time, the instructor could tell how short you were or if you went over you got to hear the loud rrrrriiiiinnnnggg in the middle of your speech....that would be intimidating to me...our instructor sat in the back of the room, could not see the clock and really just sat and listened, asked questions about our topic, and seemed genuinely interested in what we had to say.  She said over and over that most older people will not listen to a younger generation talk but she knew we had many intelligent things to say and was not like most older people.

I'll keep you posted on my grade.

    I'm off to grocery shop.

    ***Update****

    on 6-8-07

I told you I spent the last 2 weeks in a very demanding speech class.   Well all the time spent on on it really paid off. I am happy to report that today I logged in at my community college and finally saw a posted grade. I received an A .. me the gal who has been putting off speech class for almost 10 years because the very thought made me want to hurl. SO that is three A's in a row since going back to finish my last 4 classes. YAY!
