  • A Heart Ablaze - Part X

    06/28/2007

    Gold Garments and Ointment

    -white robes
    -trials
    -to see like Yeshua

Laodicea was not hot or cold

cold = know sinner and need a Savior
lukewarm= think they are ok and do not need a Savior

A false prophet draws people to his/her gifts, they want the words

A true prophet draws people to pray and to want to be closer to YHWH

Revelation 3:17 - Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

    They were deceived

Verse 18 - I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

    3 things:
    -gold
    -white clothing
    -eye salve

Your money is no good, Give your life!

Malachi 3:1 - Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

We are HIS temple.  HE will come to us to restore, strengthen and refine us.

Malachi 3:2-3 - But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness.

Isaiah 48:10 - Behold, I have refined thee, but not with silver; I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction.

I Peter 1:5-7 - Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

    Remember a day like 1,000 years....so 1000/24=almost 42 years...half a year is like 15 minutes...LOL

gold(alloy) that is hard = impure heart

gold that has been refined is soft = pure heart

Hebrews 3:13 - But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Sin in the world in your heart = hardness in you

    Holiness is the work of HIS Grace {I thought holiness meant obedience as learned in INtro to Jewish Roots class???}

Take full responsibility of own faults and Repent of them.

Judge a person's works, not their motives.

Gold in it's purest form is transparent.

Isaiah 52:1 - Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean.

Romans 13:14 - But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

    Revelation 7:9 - After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Grace produces what we need to purchase the proper garments.

Ezekiel 16:10 - I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.

Revelation 19:7 - Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

verse 8 - And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

    DIKAIOMA = Acts

Strong's says it means equitable deeds

Vine's says it means a concrete expression.

    Matthew 22:11-14 Parable

James 2:14-17 Do You have HIS fruit?

James 2:21-24 Work=a corresponding action of obedience.

Ointment - Spiritual Healing to See

in Laodicea, eye salve was what they were famous for.

Ephesians 1:18 - The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Deuteronomy 34:7 - And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.

Numbers 12:7 - My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

    Moses spent lots of time with YHWH and served YHWH. {Righteous Acts in action!}

When they spied the land and said they were like grasshoppers....that was in error because when they met with Rahab years later she said the people were afraid because of all they did to the Egyptians...surely they knew it 40 years earlier as well but again the people were deceived by the naked eye.

Israel only served when it was in their favor, but Joshua served with Moses passionately.

Numbers 14:9 - Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.

Right perception = to believe right in order to receive.  Moses' perception was right, Israel's was warped in the above example.

    Western Church today:
Many are either all about just praying and no service - call it the Martha Excuse - he reminds us that Mary worked too, she just knew when to rest.

Or many are all about serving/working and don't spend time with Yeshua.

    Both are a warped perception.

Put HIS business first and HE will take care of you, even surprise you.

Spend time with HIM and serve/obey HIM.

Do you want a pure heart or a "comfy" life?  -- OUCH!

    Part 11 teases

Is correction suppose to be painful?
    What is true repentence?

    Stay tuned.

Oh and I will be watching Part 9 either today or tomorrow morning...so will post those notes soon also.

    Stop Biometric Social Security Cards

Senator Chuck Schumer wants to amend the immigration bill to require you to get a new Social Security card with imbedded biometric information. Creating this new card would cost billions of dollars and would infringe on privacy rights. Schumer is pushing for this Biometric Social Security card because the Real ID Act is in big trouble and politicians are looking for an alternative that doesn't require the cooperation of state governments.

    {just another step closer to an implant of some type, isn't?  And did you notice the looking for a way to by pass individual states....}

EU leaders scrape treaty deal at 11th hour

After a marathon round of talks, a triumphant Angela Merkel, German chancellor, announced that a deal has been struck and that Europe will be able to move out of the "reflection" phase it has been in since the draft EU constitution was rejected two years ago. A new treaty is to be in place by the end of the year and ratified in all member states by mid-2009. The EU will get a new foreign minister - or High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy - and a permanent president. Merkel said that even though to old constitution has been chopped and sliced, "much of the substance has been maintained."

Doctors back plan to store medical info under your skin

According to the American Medical Association, doctors could soon be storing medical information under the skin of their patients. Devices implanted with a needle could give emergency room doctors quick access to records of patients. The US Food and Drug Administration has only approved "passive" tags for human implantation at this point. But the FDA may eventually approve "active" devices, which contain internal batteries and can be updated.

    {an implant and we will all jump on board for our medical safety won't we?  NOT!!!}

    Pope restores Council for Inter-Religious

The Pope has reestablished the autonomy of the Pontifical Council for Inter Religious Dialogue, with chief of the Vatican Archives and Library Archbishop Jean-Louis Tauran as its new head. The restoration of the Council is being seen as Pope Benedict XVI ' s aspiration to increase dialogue with other religions, and particularly with Islam.

Quartet seeks to revive peace talks after Gaza events

The "Quartet" of international Middle East negotiators searched for ways to revive peace talks after Hamas's takeover of the Gaza Strip. The appointment of Tony Blair would be the latest step in a sudden burst of diplomacy. Representatives of the Quartet - the US, EU, UN and Russia - met for nearly three hours. The talks were the first since Hamas took control of Gaza. U.S. officials in Washington said the Quartet is expected to name Blair as its senior negotiator. Both Israeli and Palestinian officials reacted positively to the prospect of Blair's involvement.

Texas governor clears way for NAFTA superhighway

The path has been cleared for the state of Texas to begin building the new Trans-Texas Corridor. The project, that will run along Interstate 35 from Mexico to the Oklahoma border, was enabled when Texas Gov. Rick Perry vetoed a series of proposals the Texas Legislature assembled to slow down the work on what is considered to be a key link in a continental NAFTA superhighway network. An override of Perry's vetoes is not likely because the governor has threatened to call a special session of the lawmakers to handle transportation issues if his veto falls by the wayside.

    {remember the North American Union they are trying to establish?  again, what was the point of the American Revolution?  Do these people not have respect for what our forefathers went through?}

Report: IAF preparing for Iran strike

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) is training on long-range flights in preparation for potential strikes against Iranian nuclear targets. The training program has been taking place for some time. Intelligence assessments received by the defense establishment agree that once Iran passes the point of no return in its nuclear efforts, the entire Middle East will enter a nuclear armament race. Following an end of year joint assessment of sanctions against Iran that will be held by the U.S. and Israel, Washington will decide how to move forward in the struggle against Iran's nuclear race.

  • DVD notes

I recently watched a DVD titled:

biblical collector series: who wrote the Bible

Some thoughts or things I found interesting....

1948 or 47 dead sea scrolls found...date Israelites first went back to their land

Someone said at one point the Israelites lost the ability to speak/read/understand the Hebrew Language after being in captivity for a while.

the book of Daniel had both Hebrew and aramaic words in it..as early as the 6th century BC
aramaic was a "universal" lingo and since Daniel was in government he would have known it.

when the Israelites who no longer knewHebrew returned to read the Holy Scriptures, they
translated them into Greek.  In so doing they made them crystal clear as to what Scripture was saying and also were able to record more words via what we call today the septuagint(sp?)

When Hebrew was again their lingo of choice, the transcribed everything back but would not accept the new books written only in Greek.

however the Bibles up until Luther's Faith Alone thing {which seems odd after knowing it's have faith and acts of righteousness...or as the popular song says "Trust AND Obey"} had Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic books

Luther even still used the Greek books but in the 1500's his Bibles placed them in between the OT and NT.

Up until 1826 even the protestant rulers of England kept the Bibles this way and one could be beheaded for printing a Bible w/o these Greek texts.

in 1827 some English persons got a hold of a Bible where the Greek insert was torn out and massed printed them that way.

(this could explain why the first KJV Bible in 1604 -commonly called the he Bible because it translated Ruth as a he not she- that I saw on display when the Dead Sea scrolls exhibit came thru had those books that we know the catholic church still uses.

ON the DVD they said that many of the things Jesus and Paul said are quoted in those Greek texts.

they also stressed that the Greek versions of the OT and it's other books were so crystal clear that everyone would be believers just by reading them.

    What's wrong with that?

anyone else know anything about this?

  • As heard on Savage Nation within the last 30 minutes

I was taking my son to soccer camp and my car radio is tuned into talk radio, it is my prefered way to get the news, not tv. There is just something about hearing it and not just seeing it.  The radio commentators are much more flamboyant because if they are not entertaining as well as informed, then no one would listen.

    I hear Mike Savage introduce the caller and the caller says he attends an lds church so Mike says which makes you a mormon, right?  the guy says yes.  so Mike asks him if mormons are tolerant of the idea that many roads lead to heaven.  the guy says yes they are.  he went onto say that everyone who leads a good life will get a chance to accept Jesus as their ticket into heaven. because once they reach the entrance to heaven they will be shown the error of their ways and be told they need to accept Jesus to enter or face the alternative....{yeah I'm shaking my head at this point too, I mean I always knew mormons were messed up, but...it gets better...}

Mike says so you're saying people will make the right choice then in order to avoid the alternative. he then goes on to say "you mean they can serve any "god" they want to while here and yet they will get a chance to accept Jesus?  what if Jesus is not the only way into heaven?  what if budha is standing their saying he too will take them to heaven and Moses is there with the stone tablets and says follow me thru the red sea because heaven is on the other side and also Jesus saying He is the way, the truth and the life..could we then take either path and get into heaven?"

    the mormon responds that for us 'christians' (yeah I can't believe he said that)  Jesus is the only way but it is possible that other ways and choices will be given.  again as long as the person led a good life....{so my question is whose standard of good are we talking here?  ya know}

So Mike then asks him ok say you get to heaven and only budha and Moses have shown up, then would you accept another path?

The guy says he would wait a while to see if Jesus will show up first but if He doesn't show, then he would accept another path....

That's all I got to hear but  blink blink  fume fume because many people may have heard that and may be led to think ok so I'm cool because as long as I live "right" -again according to who, as in Judges "each lived right in his own eyes"? - then I will be given a chance then to do whatever is needed to enter heaven and avoid the other place.....fume fume

    Heard on Rusty Humphrey's show....

Apparently Sean Hannity talked to some senator from Ohio on his show earlier today and since the senator was not prepared to debate on air with Sean, the senator belittled him and made a total fool of himself on the air.

    Rusty reminded us that, "Senators  are not better than us, not more important than us, and that we do not work for them.  They work for us.  Period."  {well said}

  • Judges in 2007 and Ruth

    06/18/2007  Chapters 1-3

1:16 - And the children of the Kenite, Moses' father in law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the children of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which lieth in the south of Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.
(thought Moses asked his FIL to stay with them but he turned back and yet his sons are with the Israelites?)

1:19 - And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
    (why chariots too difficult?)

1:21 - And the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites that inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem unto this day.

1:28 - And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites to tribute, and did not utterly drive them out.

2:2-3 -And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?   Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.

2:10 - And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
(why did they not teach their children or did their children reject what their parents taught?)

yep they rejected what their parents did 2:17b - they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.

2:20-22 - And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice;  I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died: That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.

3:29-30 - And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men, all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.   So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.

( it would be nice to know if this was before or after Ruth's time on the timeline, since there was no more Moab, I would say before?)

    06/19/2007 Chapters 4-6

5:2 - Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.

5:20 - They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera. (a spiritual battle as well as physical?)

5:31 - So let all thine enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.

6:13 - And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.

    06/20/2007  Chapters 7-9

8:23 - And Gideon said unto them, I will not rule over you, neither shall my son rule over you: the LORD shall rule over you.

8:30-31 - And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten: for he had many wives.   And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son, whose name he called Abimelech.   (rather energetic wasn't he...LOL, although he shouldn't have had a son with the concubine read Chapter 9 for why)

All this doing right as long as someone showed them the way but as soon as that person
died, they went back to doing wrong makes me think of trying to teach
3rd world countries to plant food, they do well when the teacher is there
but as soon as the teacher moves on, the people revert back to starvation
and eat the seeds instead of planting them.  Or at least that is what I
thought of while hearing the flip floppiness.

9:13 - And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheereth God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

    06/21/2007 Chapters 10-12

10:3 - And after him arose Jair, a Gileadite, and judged Israel twenty and two years.
(a descendent of Gilead, abimelech killed 69 of the sons and Jotham got away so, so maybe this is one of his)

10:10 - And the children of Israel cried unto the LORD, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served Baalim.

10:13-16 - Yet ye have forsaken me, and served other gods: wherefore I will deliver you no more.   Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.   And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.   And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

11:7 - And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father's house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
( i don't understand why these people are mean to siblings born of different mothers...so petty, and then they come groveling in times like these...my sister and I have the same mom and
different bio-dads, but her biological dad went to the courts when I was about 2 years old and told them he was my dad, so they burned my original birth certificate, gave me a new last name,
and put his name on the paper. My sister and I get along great.  Love ya Sis!)

11:13 - And the king of the children of Ammon answered unto the messengers of Jephthah, Because Israel took away my land, when they came up out of Egypt, from Arnon even unto Jabbok, and unto Jordan: now therefore restore those lands again peaceably.
    (and it still rages today....)

11:26 - While Israel dwelt in Heshbon and her towns, and in Aroer and her towns, and in all the cities that be along by the coasts of Arnon, three hundred years? why therefore did ye not recover them within that time?
    (good point)

11:31 - Then it shall be, that whatsoever cometh forth of the doors of my house to meet me, when I return in peace from the children of Ammon, shall surely be the LORD's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.
(was making such promises necessary, couldn't he have just reminded YHWH of HIS greatness and all that HE has done and HIS promises and then asked HIM to overcome the enemy?....again why these elaborate promises that even today we are told
not to make such huge "deals" with YHWH...like if only you would do blank for me then I will do blank for you/for the rest of my life...you know what I mean)

11:34-35 - And Jephthah came to Mizpeh unto his house, and, behold, his daughter came out to meet him with timbrels and with dances: and she was his only child; beside her he had neither son nor daughter.   And it came to pass, when he saw her, that he rent his clothes, and said, Alas, my daughter! thou hast brought me very low, and thou art one of them that trouble me: for I have opened my mouth unto the LORD, and I cannot go back.
( this seemed unfair because YHWH knew what would come out to greet him, HE should have said, no such an agreement is not necessary...maybe you disagree with me)

    06/22/2007 Chapters 13-15

13:3-4  -  And the angel of the LORD appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.   Now therefore beware, I pray thee, and drink not wine nor strong drink, and eat not any unclean thing:

13:14 - She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing: all that I commanded her let her observe.

    06/23/2007 Chapters 16-18

16:1 - Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her. (what he didn't obey the 10 commandments)

16:16-17 - And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death;   That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man.
( I know just like a woman to "nag" a man is what all the guys are thinking...)
(also sad that she loved money more than Samson and sad that he wouldn't listen to his parents and fall in love with a woman of his own people...true the first bride to be worked in his favor to get at the Philistines but again he should HOnor his father and mother....) ( of course when his hair grows back he is able to take down many Philistines but this is an example of YHWH having to work something a mere human messed up for good anyway)

17:6 - In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. (more and more it seems people even today are doing what seems right in there own eyes.)

17:13 Then said Micah, Now know I that the LORD will do me good, seeing I have a Levite to my priest.
(he has a graven image set up in his house to worship and thinks since he has an actual Levite to be his priest he is doing right...Oi Vey)

18:24 - And he said, Ye have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and ye are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this that ye say unto me, What aileth thee?
(even fellow man wanted what he had and took it away, notice he says "gods"....hmmm me thinks he sorta knows he is doing wrong)

as this chapter goes on the Danites do defeat city of Laish and call it Dan, but I am not sure why they are allowed to victor since they have a graven image...just a compassion of YHWH for HIS people?

    06/24/2007 Chapters 19-21

chapter 19 - kinda resembles Lot's story...but if it's ok to defend your family, why would they be willing to send their women out into the streets to be abused- I find this absurd.

20:16 - Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men lefthanded; every one could sling stones at an hair breadth, and not miss. ( again pointing out the skill of a lefty)

    06/25/2007 Ruth Chapters 1-4

4:11 - And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

  • My first day

Yesterday, I attended the big baptist church.  In the morning I was browsing the churches website and saw that they have 2 Messianic classes.  One at 8:15 am then service at 9:30am and then another class at 11am...well I was excited and up anyway so I went to all 3.

8:15am class - Shoresh Bible Study

ok some meeting is going to take place and U.S., Israel, and the former plo/current fattah party are going to be at this meeting.  Apparently we and Israel are going to give fattah money to get rid of hamas...but the leader of the fattah party uses a new name now but we also know him as abu maza (sp?) and he was the terrorist who headed up some munich olympic thing (maybe you know what he was  talking about, I am new to world events and not that old so forgive me for not knowing what he is talking about)  so basically we are giving money to a known terrorist because he is the lesser of 2 evils...anyone else saying I. CAN'T. THINK. LIKE. THAT....????

also learned that in 70 AD rome changed the name of Jerusalem to Palestine after the Philistines....but they have been dead for centuries...who we know as the palestinians have only existed since 1962 .  They have no claim or right to the land.  interesting discussion for the morning....I can really get into that and it may be hard to get my hiney up and ready and there on time but it would be worth it.

9:30am service -  Messianic Psalm of David (at a baptist church...of all places.)

Band called Addison Road led worship.  It was great.  They are in town to work with their youth and do an outreach this week.  The guys could really play their instruments well and she could really sing.  So nice to see young people using the talent YHWH gave them to glorify HIM.  (Holy is the Lord God Almighty.  The earth is filled with HIS Glory.  was the song they sang)

the pastor their showed Psalm 22 was like David was there at the crucifixion - read Psalm 22 and see all the ways it sounds like what happened to Yeshua and even HIS very words.  In David's day crucifying someone was unheard of.

    We had communion.

11am class - INtro to Jewish roots.

got invited to the once a month Shabbat held at the church.  Looking forward to that.  Currently I can only observe the Sabbath with rest from unecessary work.  So looking forward to learning more and of course not conjoling my DH into anything but maybe a quiet and pleasant testimony will be the right way to go.

On the board was written -

    Within Judaism:
"Tradition is not the dead faith of the living, but the living faith of the dead." Dr. Marvin Wilson

    ( I don't get it. ??)

Hebrews chapter 12 was the focus

verse 1 the word endurance as in our Bibles is actually agony in greek.  Agony entails effort, work, and some suffering.

Verses 5-8  remember YHWH chastens those HE loves, so if you see your neighbor never being chastened by YHWH that can't be good.

Redemption - can't just take it....need to be humble (humility) and repent.

The word pride in that chapter means a long greek word that means a big nothing or where we get the words phantom and famous from - LOL famous = big nothing!!

He said in boot camp they had to march for hours before the sun came up.  And they all had to do it, if just one person got out of line or whimped out, they all had to re-do it.  He said he can remember one time marching along, it was dark, and his right foot went into a hole twisting his ankle.  He did a sommersault out of the formation and the guys behind him quickly got out of line and picked him and carried him in the marching formation to the finish point.

He said it's like that sometimes.  Their are strong and weak believers.  The strong ones need to just bite the bullet sometimes.  You may say but I'm not strong, he says you are in Yeshua.

That turn the other cheek thing only applies to insults.  If someone hurts your family you can and should defend them.

YHWH can compromise on strategy when dealing with a person (maybe why it seems some get dealt harsher hands than others) but HE will not compromise on principle.  Torah is Torah.  HIS Word is Law...HE will not compromise on that.

Then they understood that holiness meant obedience...but we have the greek philosophy passed down to the catholic church of dualism - meaning we seperate spiritual from physical.  Seeing the first as good and holy and the latter as bad or evil.  Why monks torture themselves.  Plus someone pointed out that even the word Holy is not longer properly used,  that it should be Holy Days but we've changed it and abused it and now we have holidays and that in schools with the seperating of church and state ("spiritual" and physical) that means they can't teach the true meaning of the word.

YHWH says I created both the physical and the spiritual.  All are good.  The instructor said YHWH has given us all work and play for enjoyment.  It is good to please YHWH by enjoying that which HE has given us.  We could even be held accountable for not partaking in a form of fun that HE has provided (as long as it is appropriate according to HIM that is)

Verse 23 church in our Bibles should mean called out or a court...this is a legal system here.  and it should be heavens, plural, but even the KJV just says heaven.

A lady that sat by me had a Hebrew Bible.  She told me to search for Faith Exchange or Dan Stratton to get one.  She got hers from New York.  The names of the books are in Hebrew and YHWH is written in Hebrews but the rest was in English.  The Bible comes from Africa.

  • Prayer of Jabez and 'the secret'

to me they seem alike.  Both claim a simple thing and whammo your life can be how you want it.

with the secret, I knew right away this was wrong.  I can't believe one of the authors of one of those chicken soup for the souls books, is a promoter/supporter of the secret.  I can also tell ya that oprah is not a believer since she is all about this stuff, ya know some people think she is so "great".  Even here in my area, at the unitarian furch, they had a special event on the secret....seriously whacked out there. And other critics have come forth

As for the prayer of Jabez books.  I've read them.  They are cute at best.  But I think the important thing to remember is that he called upon YHWH to help him.  Not so much his words because everyone calls upon YHWH for their individual needs.  Sure we all have basic needs (food, water, shelter, clothing, safety, etc)  but Jabez prayed for all this so he would not be a burden on anyone.  It's not fun to think you are burdening to family and friends.  So I don't think praying Jabez's words 3 times day or whatever is some "magical" formula for getting your way.  After all Yeshua said, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -- John 16:33  And HE also said, "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." -- Mark 10:27

I believe what Yeshua said.  YHWH is in control.

  • Cities of the underworld as seen on the history channel

So I like to watch the history channel...big deal...it's cool.

Today he is under the streets/buildings in Paris....so interesting.  6 million skeletons under there and a current population of 2 million live people.  Think about that.

They said before the Christianity explosion after the dark ages, France would cremate (sp?) their dead because they were a walled in country and only so much room.  But after the Christian thang came thru they started to bury their dead.  Bodies in one mass grave until decomposed, then those bones moved to outside areas of grave yards and the cycle continued.  They ran out of room and eventually placed the bones in the old quarry tunnels that the Romans dug 1900 years ago.

The bones are intricately designed as retaining walls and reshifted often so they don't tumble down.  They stack femurs and use the skulls for designs- such as crosses- in the walls of bones.

I was thinking that so it's possible that a good lot of those skeletons belong to Christ-Followers and WOW imagine when the "twinkling of an eye" change takes place!!!

    ok...so it's cool!

  • The insensitiveness of some moms....

Earlier I was waiting for DS's gymnastics to be over so we could go sign him up for football camp.  To my left were 2 moms talking with a slew of children (aged 4 and under) around them.  One of the moms was spouting off about how one of the girls she had with her was an only child and you could tell because she really likes to test boundaries.

Uh excuse me, all the parenting books say children of that age range test boundaries until they know parents mean business when they say to do or not do something.  The nerve of her to attribute it as a trait of an only child.  Again, all children test boundaries.  They even make sitcoms about children testing boundaries, that's how common it is.

So while she is belittling only children everywhere, her youngest darts out the door.  My son is out there and I see that he has spotted the knew to walking tot and is instantly looking out for her.  The other "only child" that the lady is babysitting is desperately trying to get the ladies attention and tell her that her daughter just left the room and is out in the room where the other adults are lifting weights and the main door that leads to the parking lot.  I too am hollering, "miss, mam, miss...."

All the while this lady just keeps spouting off about the bad traits of only children to the other mom with a slew of children also.

OK there is a time for talking (but not putting others down...many children are onlies because it was the LORD's will, not their parents will) and there is a time for watching your  brood, especially out in public, you are not in the comfort and safety of your home.  Imagine if that little girl had been able to get out to the parking lot or had an accident with the weights...and what was the mom doing, touting the "greatness" of not being an only child.

    UGH!

For the record, as part of a discussion I took place in earlier this week, a few comments by other moms of onlies that I wish lived closer, I would really like to meet another mom of an only so we could fellowship and our children could play.  It seems moms with many just don't have time for another mom and her one child to take part in their backyard just playing.

1 mom said :  So now you're bad if ya have kids (according to the population control police) and you're bad if you only have one (according the the quiverfull camp, which I consider myself a part of, we don't prevent pregnancies, I don't ovulate, no egg no baby simple as that)

another said: A lot of the good homeschooling resources out there are from the "quiverful" group. Which I also consider ourselves a part of, but "leaving family size in God's hands" does not always mean a child every 1-3 years...It's difficult to believe that, be around others that believe that, and then to be judged by them when they don't know all the facts. "You're selfish for not wanting more. Not following God's plan. Must be some hidden sin." You pick the saying...

And another said: While some of the books/mags have very useful and helpful resources they can also be hurtful in the way they talk about things. Not that they aren't good resources and I'm glad it is there for those that need it, but we have different cases. I remember the articles on keeping the baby/toddler (or both) busy while working with the older ones used to sting just a little.

another comment:  I just find it ironic that people who live by "accept as many children as God gives you" can be so non-accepting of those who do that and are only given 1... or none at all....Not talking about Klicka, but my own experience with several churches that are big on a "Quiverful and Homeschooling."

one more:    I am NOT doing something wrong just because I have only one child.  People will say to me, "Oh, I am so tired and busy and I have 6 kids and yada yada yada" and do I say, "Oh, you really shouldn't have had 6 kids, that's why you're so tired and busy.  That was a dumb move."   NO, of course I don't say that!  That's rude, and mean, and none of my business, and I have to assume they are living out God's will in the number of kids they have.  I accept your 11 kids, please accept my 1.

A great comment:   I really don't understand this. People assume that an only will be shy, selfish, self centered, spoiled, rude and generally speaking a brat.... yet when they see this behavior in multi children families they don't say... oh he must be a sibling that's why!

My Only is generally polite, giving, outgoing, opinionated and conversational, caring of others, and for the most part well behaved. I get complements on him all the time.

He has less of the "only child syndrome" than most siblinged (is that a word?) children I know. Which I usually see the most of in families that say things like that. I find it an odd observation as having more children didn't "cure" the ones they had of these "bad behaviors" or mannerisms...yet they are quick to assume an only will have them in triplicate to make up for the lack of others?

Its like people saying someone is shy because they are home-schooled...no, that is just who they are...what about the public schooled kids who are shy? I don't hear "oh they go to public school."
